Building Self-Esteem: How to Transform Your Self-Talk to Build Your Self-Esteem

Research indicates that the average person talks to himself or
herself about 55,000 words per day. According to psychological
researchers, it is 77% negative; things such as… “Everybody
else says I won’t succeed anyway”, “I don’t like the way I look”,
“I’ll never be a public speaker”, “I’m worthless,” “Nobody
understands me” etc.

Now, something a few people know: Every cell in your body is
affected by every thought you have. And what does it imply in
your life? It simply implies that if you have negative or poor
thinking, you cells will develop poorly. If you have healthy and
pure thoughts, your cells will grow healthy, strong and pure. So
will your body, spirit and soul.

Now the hardest thing might be to control our thoughts so they
always are positive. See, the trick is not to force your thoughts
to always be positive. You can train your mind to shift and
modify your emotions, feelings and thoughts in an instant.

I don’t personally think it’s destroying or bad to feel anger.
But I think it is destroying and bad to stay in a state of anger.

Lots of psychologists with certifications and so called gurus
will say “express your anger, it’s good for you from time to
time”. The problem is: what does “from time to time” mean: once a
month, once a week, once a day… Believe me that “from time to
time” can mean once every hour for a lot of people. This is not a
solution. Human beings are endowed with intelligence. Let’s use
it.

Why not learn how to modify your feelings and thoughts in an
instant? Think it’s not possible? Think again. It happens to me
all the time. It happens to all of us all the time. I have a 3-
year old daughter and she frustrates me more than I would like.
But suddenly, she said “Daddy, kiss” and now I melt like an ice-
cream and forget the moment of frustration. It happens to parents
all the time.

Changing, modifying and texturing thoughts and emotions is
possible. The following is a quick way to do that: Let’s take
this emotion of frustration. First, recognize that you have this
feeling of frustration and after all you are human and
frustration is sometimes part of the game. Second, step back from
the experience and tell yourself “I’m so proud of you, you just
created an emotion called frustration in a fraction of a second,
congratulations, you’re the fastest human being on earth to be
frustrated that fast” Joke about yourself. Be humble. Suddenly,
you begin to smile… where is the frustration already?

Don’t let your frustration or any negative thought or emotion
spoil a moment of your precious life. Reclaim your power. Texture
your emotions. Live an extraordinary life now.
